Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is prepared to drop Wout Weghorst to the bench for tomorrow’s Premier League game at Leeds United.
The Red Devils recently played out a 2-2 draw against Leeds at Old Trafford. Weghorst was hugely disappointing until he was brought off.
United were trailing 2-0 when he was substituted, but they managed to fight back for a 2-2 draw with goals from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
It is now reported that Weghorst will start on the bench at Elland Road with Ten Hag expected to prefer Rashford as his centre-forward option.
Rashford started on the right wing in midweek, but played up front following Weghorst’ substitution. Ten Hag is expected to stick with him.
United have the opportunity to boost their top four hopes with a victory tomorrow. They can go seven points clear of fifth-place Tottenham Hotspur.
It will be interesting to see how they perform at Leeds. The Whites play at a very high tempo and will make it difficult for the Red Devils.
