Pension Credit is a means-tested benefit which is intended to help people who have reached state pension age and are on a low income. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), who is responsible for paying this benefit, is urging people to check eligibility.

Pension Credit is separate from the state pension.
It can be claimed by eligible people, even if they have other income, savings or they own their own home.
It may also be that claiming Pension Credit opens up other forms of support.

The user of this GOV.UK service will need details of earnings, benefit and pensions, as well as savings and investments.
They will need the same details for their partner, if they have one.
The Government directs people to contact the Pension Service helpline if they’re not sure whether they’re eligible for extra amounts.
