Liverpool could battle it out with Manchester United to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Kolo Muani in the summer.
The Reds recently secured the signature of Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven after agreeing to pay an initial fee of around £37m.
The Dutchman was initially a top target for United, but Liverpool managed to hijack the deal by offering more money up front.
It is now reported by RMC Sport that the Reds want another United target in Muani, who has had a fantastic season in Germany.
The 24-year-old has bagged eight goals and 11 assists at club level this season. Frankfurt already value him at around £55m.
United and Liverpool are both said to be interested in signing the striker, but a transfer may not materialise until the summer.
Frankfurt are currently fourth in the German Bundesliga and they are in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League.
Hence, they are reluctant to lose him until the end of the season. Muani is also content to see out the campaign with the club.
