Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is set to return to Chelsea this summer as Roma can’t afford the asking price.
The 30-year-old joined the Giallorossi on loan last summer and he has had a good season with 18 goals and four assists in all competitions.
Roma’s hierarchy are also impressed by his goal contributions, but they are not in a position to purchase him at the current point of time.
The Blues want at least £37 million to part ways with Lukaku on a permanent basis, but Roma seem clear that they won’t make such an outlay.
Hence, he will be returning to the west London side this summer, but there is a high possibility that he will be with another club next term.
A number of Saudi Arabian clubs are still interested in his services. Lukaku was not keen on the move last year and may reject them again.
We won’t be surprised if Lukaku returns to the Italian top-flight. Juventus tried to broker a permanent deal last summer and could return for him.
