Privacy Policy — News Broadcaster Live
Effective Date: October 9, 2026. This Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how 24World Media (“24World Media,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), as publisher of News Broadcaster Live (“News Broadcaster Live,” the “Site,” or the “Service,” accessible at newsbroadcasterlive.com), collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit the Site, read our live and developing-news coverage, submit a tip or inquiry, or otherwise interact with the Service. News Broadcaster Live provides live U.S. news under the tagline “Live news, as it happens, around the clock.” By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three principal ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically through your use of the Service, and information obtained from third-party service providers that support Site operations. The categories below are intended to be exhaustive as of the Effective Date; if we introduce a materially new category, we will update this Policy before or contemporaneously with the change.
(a) Information you provide. When you use our contact form, submit a news tip, request a correction, or correspond with our newsroom or business teams, we collect your name, the contact details you choose to supply, the subject of your inquiry, the full text of your message, and any files or links you voluntarily attach or reference. If you inquire about advertising, licensing, or partnership, we collect business contact details, company affiliation, campaign or usage requirements, and billing-related information necessary to prepare proposals or agreements. We do not require account registration to read our news coverage, and we do not knowingly solicit sensitive personal information through public forms.
(b) Automatically collected information. When you access the Site, our servers and analytics tools automatically record certain technical and usage information, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, truncated or hashed identifiers derived therefrom, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring and exit pages, dates and times of access, pages viewed, live threads followed, time spent on pages, click behavior, and approximate geographic location inferred from IP address (typically at the city or regional level). During breaking-news events, we also record aggregate demand patterns (for example, concurrent readership of a live thread) to manage capacity and security.
(c) Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies as described in Section 5. These technologies may collect identifiers, browsing activity on the Site, and preferences such as whether you have dismissed a notice. Third-party advertising and analytics partners may set their own cookies subject to their own policies and your browser controls.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information for the following purposes, in each case as permitted by applicable law: (i) to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including delivering live updates, optimizing page performance during high-traffic developing stories, and detecting technical faults; (ii) to evaluate and respond to inquiries, news tips, correction requests, and confidential-source communications; (iii) to provide advertising, licensing, and partnership services, including preparing proposals, fulfilling campaigns, and issuing invoices; (iv) to analyze readership in aggregate — which live formats, topics, and update frequencies serve readers best — and to plan editorial resources; (v) to protect the rights, property, and safety of 24World Media, our journalists, our readers, and the public, including investigating fraud, abuse, and security incidents; (vi) to comply with legal obligations, court orders, and lawful requests from authorities; and (vii) for any other purpose disclosed at the point of collection or with your consent. We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense of exchanging it for monetary consideration.
3. Legal Bases and Consent
Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more legal bases for processing: performance of a contract or pre-contractual steps (for advertisers and licensees), our legitimate interests in operating a secure, accurate live-news service and understanding our audience (balanced against your rights), compliance with legal obligations, and, where applicable, your consent. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing is consent-based, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Submitting a confidential news tip does not create a contractual relationship, but we will handle the submission consistent with our Code of Ethics and this Policy.
4. Disclosure of Information
We disclose information only as necessary and proportionate: (a) to vetted service providers performing functions on our behalf — hosting, content delivery, analytics, advertising serving, email delivery, security, and customer-support tooling — under contractual duties of confidentiality and purpose limitation; (b) to advertising partners in aggregate or pseudonymous form to deliver, frequency-cap, and measure campaigns; (c) where you have directed us to share information or consented to disclosure; (d) to comply with law, regulation, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or to respond to lawful governmental requests; (e) to protect against imminent harm, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service; and (f) in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case information may be transferred subject to confidentiality and notice as required by law. News tips and source identities receive heightened protection: we do not disclose a confidential source’s identity except as required by law after review by senior editorial and legal personnel, or with the source’s consent.
5. Cookies, Advertising, and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use strictly necessary cookies (security, load balancing, form operation), functional cookies (remembering preferences), analytics cookies (measuring reach and performance of articles and live threads), and advertising cookies (delivering and measuring ads, limiting repetition). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may degrade live-update functionality or measurement accuracy but will not prevent reading most content. Where third-party advertising is served, those partners may use cookies to infer interests and measure cross-site effectiveness; you can opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative opt-out pages, and through your browser or device settings. We use analytics services to produce aggregate reports; we configure them, where available, to truncate IP addresses and prohibit use of our data for unrelated profiling. We honor legally required consent signals and, where applicable, Global Privacy Control signals for targeted-advertising opt-outs.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Contact-form and tip submissions are retained for editorial and audit purposes and are periodically reviewed for deletion when no longer needed. Correction requests and related editorial records may be retained longer to document the accuracy history of published reporting. Server and security logs are retained on a rolling basis, typically for months rather than years, except where preserved for an investigation. Advertising and transaction records are retained in accordance with accounting and tax obligations. When information is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it so it can no longer be associated with an individual.
7. Data Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including access controls on a need-to-know basis, encrypted transport (HTTPS) for the Site, patching and monitoring of hosting infrastructure, and staff training on source protection. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, particularly during high-volume breaking-news periods when systems are under exceptional load; accordingly, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You should avoid sending highly sensitive personal documents through public web forms. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information where notification is legally required, we will notify affected individuals and regulators as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to opt out of targeted advertising or the “sharing” of information for advertising; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. U.S. state laws (including those in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah) and, where applicable, the GDPR and UK GDPR confer specific rights; we honor verified requests regardless of formal applicability where feasible. To exercise a right, contact us via the Contact page on this Site or by mail at the address in Section 11. We will verify your identity proportionate to the request and respond within the period required by applicable law (typically 30–45 days), explaining any lawful basis for denial in whole or part. You may designate an authorized agent where permitted by law. You also control cookies and device identifiers as described in Section 5.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is directed to a general news audience and is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through a form or tip, please contact us and we will delete it promptly, subject to any legal retention duties.
10. International Transfers and Third-Party Links
24World Media is based in the United States, and information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. The Site links to third-party sources — official agencies, court filings, weather services, and cited publications — whose privacy practices we do not control. Review the policies of those sites before submitting information to them.
11. Contact Information and Changes to This Policy
Questions, rights requests, or concerns regarding this Policy should be directed to 24World Media, publisher of News Broadcaster Live, 1411 N Sterling Ave, Palatine, IL 60067, United States, or through the Contact page on newsbroadcasterlive.com. We will acknowledge privacy inquiries promptly and substantive requests within the timelines stated in Section 8. We may revise this Policy from time to time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The updated Policy will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date; material changes will be highlighted on the Site or, where we hold your contact details for an ongoing matter, communicated directly. Your continued use of the Service after a revision takes effect constitutes acknowledgment of the updated Policy.
12. State-Specific Disclosures and Updates
Residents of certain U.S. states have supplemental rights described in this Section, which forms part of this Policy. We do not “sell” personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising except through standard advertising cookies that you may disable as described in Section 5; where such activity is deemed a “share,” the opt-out methods in that Section apply with full effect. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond purposes permitted without a right to limit under California law, and we do not knowingly process the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 for sale or targeted advertising. In the preceding twelve months, we have collected the categories listed in Section 1 (identifiers, commercial inquiry information, internet activity, and approximate geolocation) from the sources stated there, for the purposes stated in Section 2, and disclosed them to the service-provider categories stated in Section 4. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Utah may exercise rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and targeted-advertising opt-out, and may appeal a denied request by contacting us as stated in Section 11, in which case we will respond to the appeal within the period required by applicable law. We review this Policy at least annually and whenever our data practices materially change — including the introduction of newsletters, mobile applications, or new advertising technologies — and we will not apply material reductions in protection retroactively to information already collected without notice.
