The WNBA made it official on Thursday, crowning Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson as the league’s Most Valuable Player for 2026 — a record fifth MVP award, and her third in a row. No player in league history had ever won three straight.

Wilson averaged 26.2 points, 9.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season, leading the league in scoring for a third straight year while anchoring the Aces at both ends of the floor. She collected 65 of 74 first-place votes, outpolling Minnesota rookie Olivia Miles and a pair of Indiana guards, Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark. Before Wilson, no WNBA player had won more than three MVPs in a career; she now owns five of the awards across the league’s three decades, along with three championships and two Finals MVP honors.
The league’s official video package retraces the season that settled the argument. What makes the run historic is not only the total but the timing: Wilson won these awards in 2020, 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026, meaning voters have named her the league’s best player in five of the last seven seasons. ‘As a little girl, you dream so big,’ she reflected on Thursday — before turning her attention, and her team’s, to the semifinal series the Aces are still fighting to extend.
